Designed to promote the folkloric traditions of Northern Transylvania (including influences from surrounding Maramureș and Bucovina), the festival brings together dancers and singers from many villages. It is effectively a local gathering of rural culture on an urban stage, reflecting the pride of local identity in folk heritage.
