Each summer, the town of Michalovce gathers folk ensembles for the Zemplínske slávnosti. Performers from the Zemplín region and abroad fill the festival with traditional music and dance, in a celebration of the rich folk culture of this region of eastern Slovakia by the Ukrainian border.
