Wörthersee Marian Boat Procession

Marien-Schiffsprozession am Wörthersee

Each August 15, on the Assumption, a flotilla carries a statue of Mary across Lake Wörthersee. The Marienschiffsprozession sails by evening from Velden to Maria Wörth, in a celebration begun in 1954 that honors the feast and the deep Marian devotion of Carinthia.

Media proof note

The Wörthersee Marian Boat Procession record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.
