Weitensfeld Garland-Riding Ritual

Weitensfelder Kranzelreiten

Weitensfeld im Gurktal, Austria

May 23 - 25, 2026Expected

Each Pentecost, the village of Weitensfeld adorns its horses with floral wreaths for the Kranzlreiten. A special Mass and a procession of garlanded riders fill the spring day, in an intimate celebration that joins Carinthia's Alpine folk traditions to its Catholic faith.
