Each year, the city of Villach hosts the Villacher Kirchtag, said to be Austria's largest traditional folk festival. Folk music, dance, and Carinthian food and drink fill the days, in a celebration begun in 1936 that grew from a post-harvest fair into a great gathering of the region.
