Originally created to encourage cultural exchange, the festival features the Villablanca Danza de los Palos (a traditional stick dance for Virgen de la Blanca) alongside international ensembles. It is declared an event of Andalusian Tourist Interest. Every year since 1981, it reflects Villablanca's openness to world culture and its identity as the "Village of Dance".
