Each last weekend of July, the town of Viljandi fills its castle ruins and stages with the Viljandi Folk Music Festival. Traditional and contemporary folk artists from around the world play alongside Estonian ensembles, in a celebration of the folk music that lies at the heart of Estonian heritage.
