This festival reflects Vágamenn’s (people of Vágur island) strong fishing and farm heritage. It originated as an inter-village gathering fostering community bonds in summer. The rotating host tradition ensures all three villages share stewardship over time. Vestanstevna preserves folk dances, local music, and crafts, emphasizing the rural identity of western Vagar.
