Each May, the Tyrolean village of Zell am Ziller throws the Gauder Fest, one of the Alps' oldest spring festivals. Locals fill the streets in Lederhosen and dirndl for folk music, dancing, and rustic strength contests, all washed down with a famously strong festival beer brewed just for the occasion.
