Each mid-June the city of Trnava fills its streets and squares with Trnavská brána, a folklore festival of dozens of folk ensembles performing dance and music, alongside craft stalls of gingerbread and basketry. Established in the early 2000s, it celebrates Slovak folk tradition in the heart of the city.
