This parade honors the same biblical Magi of Epiphany. While smaller than the main city parade, Triana’s event has its own committee and is an important community occasion. In Triana, the Coronation Mass for the Kings takes place before the parade. It preserves the custom (similar to broader Spanish tradition) of children believing the Wise Men bring gifts on Epiphany. The event is imbued with neighborhood pride.
