Each Ascension Week, the village of Tissington dresses its wells with great mosaics of flowers and petals. The decorated panels and a church service mark the days in late spring, in a celebration of the centuries-old Derbyshire folk art of well dressing.

Well Dressing Procession

Join or observe the procession as it winds past each of the decorated wells. Visitors can see the wreath-made art up close, hear the bells/hymns, and collect small bouquets often offered at the church.

Blessing and Dedication Ceremony

Attend the church service and witness villagers in procession attire offering prayers. After the service, participants and clergy process around the village to bless each decorated well alongside hymns.
