Each Easter, the Catalan town of Cervera stages La Passió, a Passion play acting out the last days of Christ over several spring afternoons. Performed by local actors in the town's churches and theatre, it has carried on since the 1500s, in one of Catalonia's oldest and most cherished pieces of community theatre.
