Each November, the Slovenian city of Maribor celebrates Martinovanje, when, by old tradition, the new must finally becomes wine. A festive blessing of the young vintage fills the city with wine, food, and music for days, in a celebration of St. Martin's Day rooted in the autumn customs of the wine country.
