Redyk Wiosenny Szczawnica–Jaworki is a public spring pastoral festival in the Pieniny region of southern Poland, centered on the ceremonial driving of sheep to mountain pastures after the winter break. The 2026 edition was a three-day event (30 April – 2 May) combining a pastoralism conference, highland music concerts, regional cuisine tastings, craft fairs, and the culminating Wielki Redyk — the solemn mass and procession of sheep to the kosór (sheepfold) in Jaworki pod Homolami. It was organized within the framework of the UN International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP) 2026. The festival opens the pastoral season in Pieniny and celebrates living Góral Pieniński (Pieniny highlander) shepherd culture.

This celebration benefits from careful observation, local guidance, and respect for community boundaries.
Attendance can be appropriate while active documentation is not. Let local boundaries define your role.
Avoid filming or photographing moments that feel private, sacred, or restricted.
Some celebrations are best approached quietly: arrive prepared, follow posted rules, and leave without turning the moment into content.
