Approved as a laic celebration since 1899 (revived from Spanish-era customs), the Cavalcata gathers all of Sardinia’s regional groups. It is considered one of the island’s three major folk festivals, underscoring Sassari’s role as host of this secular feast of identity (festa della bellezza).
