Each September, the city of Tarragona honors its patron, Saint Thecla, with twelve days of the richest folklore in Catalonia. Towering human castells, parading giants, fire-breathing beasts, and the old processional dances fill the streets, in a celebration the city has kept since 1321 and prizes above all others.
