Each winter, the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife throws one of the most spectacular carnivals in Spain. Dazzling feathered costumes, towering carnival queens, and pounding murga bands fill the streets for weeks of dancing before Lent, in a celebration alive with the color and rhythm of Latin America.

Huge crowds line the parade route; Central fairs can become very crowded. Less crowded in side streets and plazas.
