Each January, the Alpine city of Aosta fills with a thousand stalls of handmade craft for the Foire de Saint-Ours, one of Europe's oldest and largest artisan fairs. Woodcarvers, weavers, and sculptors show off a year's work in the winter cold, in a market that has gathered the makers of the valley for a thousand years.
