Every May 1 the people of Encamp gather at the chapel of Els Cortals for the Aplec de Sant Jaume, with a morning Mass and communal festivities in honor of St. James. Grown around a community chapel built in 1998, the pilgrimage gathers the parish in the high pastures above the town.

After Mass locals enjoy an aperitif with sardana dancing. In 2024 a local rumba band (Rumband) played for the crowd, emphasizing generational unity through music.
