Each mid-July, the town of Radviliškis marks the end of the rye harvest with a folklore festival. The ceremonial cutting of the final sheaf and the weaving of a rye wreath fill the day around the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, in a celebration of a grain Lithuanians hold sacred as the staff of life.
