Each June 23 and 24, the open-air Folk Life Museum at Rumšiškės celebrates Joninės, the Lithuanian midsummer. Bonfires, flower wreaths, and old rituals of nature and rebirth fill the night, in a celebration that traces back to the pre-Christian solstice festivities of the Baltic.
