Each July, the town square of Mariehamn becomes the biggest party in the Åland Islands for Rockoff, a summer music festival started by local youth in the 1980s. Nordic acts and crowds fill the heart of the little Swedish-speaking island capital, in a beloved highlight of the short northern summer.
