Each June in Savlje near Ljubljana, unmarried men on horseback charge a wooden wine barrel with iron batons, the winner crowned the quintain rider. Descended from old knightly tournaments, the Posavsko štehvanje has been ridden here for more than a century.
The Posavje Quintain record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.

Originating from old knightly tournaments, štehvanje has been practiced for over a century in Ljubljana’s Posavje district. It is organized by the Savlje-Kleče-Bežigrad Farmers’ Union (KSSSKZ) and symbolizes agricultural heritage and local identity in the Savlje area. The event emphasizes rural traditions of the region with horse procession, folk costumes, and community participation.
