Each year, the city of Lutsk fills its castle and squares with folk music for Polissya Summer with Folklore. Local and visiting ensembles dance and sing at Lubart's Castle and the old cathedral, in an international celebration held since 1994 to keep the heritage of Volhynia and Polissya alive.

The festival was founded to preserve and popularize the cultural heritage of Volhynia and Polissya. It is held under the aegis of the International Council of Folklore Festivals (CIOFF) affiliated with UNESCO, aiming to integrate Ukrainian folk traditions with those of other nations. The festival fosters pride in regional Polissya identity and introduces youth to folk customs through participatory events․
