La Passejà de Sant Onofre
Jun 9, 2027ConfirmedSource
La Passejà de Sant Onofre is Quart de Poblet's annual fire-and-devotion procession held every night of 9 June. The town carries the image of its patron saint Sant Onofre through the streets from the Ermita to the Església de la Puríssima Concepció, accompanied by traditional Valencian music, local participation, fireworks, firecrackers, and spectacular rodes de foc (wheels of fire) at the Rotonda de l'Aigua. The tradition originates from a 1723 legend in which Sant Onofre was believed to have brought rain during a severe drought, and in gratitude residents carried the saint's image in procession with tracas, petardos, music and joy. It is recognized as a Festa d'Interés Turístic Autonòmic (Festival of Regional Tourist Interest) in the Valencian Community, declared in 2023, and as Fiesta de Interés Turístico Provincial since 2018. The festival celebrated its 302nd anniversary in 2025.
