Each July, the Westphalian city of Paderborn holds its great marksmen's festival, the largest of its kind in the city. Uniformed shooting brotherhoods parade through town with bands and banners, joined by funfair and feasting, in a celebration of civic pride and a marksmanship tradition centuries old.
