Orthodox Christmas

Православни Божић

Each January 7, the Orthodox Serbs of Banja Luka keep Christmas by the old Julian calendar. On Christmas Eve families light the Badnjak, the yule log, and gather for the midnight liturgy, in a celebration whose warm rituals carry the faith of the region through the heart of winter.

Media proof note

The Orthodox Christmas record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.
