Each summer, around 150 marksmen's guilds from both Dutch and Belgian Limburg gather for the Oud Limburgs Schuttersfeest, the great festival of the schutterijen. Colorful parades, shooting contests, and Mass fill the day, in a celebration of medieval guild traditions that still bind the towns of the region together.
