Once every five years, the historic village of Koprivshtitsa fills its meadows with thousands of singers, dancers, and musicians from every corner of Bulgaria. A living museum of folk tradition, the festival gathers the country's regional costumes, songs, and dances in one place, in the grandest celebration of Bulgarian folklore there is.

Opening Ceremony

Spectators see the colorful parade of local ensembles, official speeches, and folk music ensemble performances. Traditional garb and large flag ceremonies mark the start of festivities.

Audience enjoys large-scale folk dances and songs. Best groups from each region perform, followed by final awards presented by organizers and folklorists.
