The Carnevale Muggesano dates back centuries as a major community ritual. Municipal records from Muggia attest to carnival celebrations in 1420, including a ducat given to the troupe spending on musicians. By 1611 the Ballo della Verdura was described in detail. Today eight neighborhood-based companies (Bellezze Naturali, Bulli e Pupe, Bora, Brivido, Lampo, Mandrioi, Ongia, Trottola) perpetuate the tradition. It is said to be...
