Each October, the hilltop village of Montmartre celebrates the tiny vineyard that still grows grapes in the middle of Paris. The Fête des Vendanges brings parades, food stalls, and wine to the steep old streets, in a festive harvest party, held since 1934, that keeps a bit of the countryside alive in the city.
