Mont-d'Or Vacherin Festival

Fête du Vacherin Mont-d'Or

Each late September the Vaud village of Charbonnières celebrates the opening of the season for Vacherin Mont-d'Or, its prized soft cheese, with outdoor tables, bread and melted cheese, and cheese-making demonstrations. A Vaud emblem, the round of Mont-d'Or marks the turn into autumn in the Jura.
