Martin’s Day (Martini) has long been associated with the first tasting of the year’s wine. In Podersdorf and the surrounding Neusiedl Lake region, this is celebrated as “Martiniloben,” combining pilgrimage and wine tradition. The Hiataeinzug recalls medieval vineyard guardians. The festival is part of a living Viniculture heritage in Burgenland and ties together agricultural tradition with local folklore.
