Each Holy Week, the seaside neighborhoods of Valencia hold the Semana Santa Marinera, a maritime Easter. Brotherhoods process through the old fishing quarters of Canyamelar and Cabanyal by the sea, in a celebration that blends the rituals of Holy Week with the deep port and fishing heritage of these communities.
