Each spring, the city of Kramatorsk honors the great folk painter Maria Prymachenko with an amateur art festival. Painters, artisans, and performers from the Donetsk region show traditional Petrykivka painting, crafts, music, and dance, in a celebration that nurtures the folk-art heritage of Ukraine.
