St Patrick’s Day has long been celebrated by Manchester’s Irish diaspora. The Irish World Heritage Centre (IWHC) in Cheetham Hill, opened in 1977, became a hub for Irish culture. Its first St Patrick’s Day parade was held on 17 March 1990.
