Each late August, the Catalan wine town of Vilafranca del Penedès honors its patron, Sant Fèlix, with one of the region's great festivals. Parading giants and fire-runs fill the streets, but the heart of it is the famous castellers, the human-tower teams who raise some of the tallest castells in all of Catalonia.

The story behind it
This festival follows the traditional Penedès pattern: morning drum parades of folk giants and devils, midday casteller (human tower) exhibitions at the town square, and evening processions honoring the saint.
