Each May, the festival Mai que Mai winds through the villages of the Orb and Jaur valleys in celebration of Occitan culture. Concerts, the bal folk dance, storytelling, and workshops fill several days, in a celebration that carries the living language and traditions of Occitania from town to town.
Organized by a coalition of local cultural associations (e.g., Tafanari), 'Mai que Mai' traces to the May Day (Mai) folk festivities. The name means 'May forever!' in Occitan. It's aimed at both locals and newcomers to revive pagan and peasant folk elements typical of the countryside.
