Each January 7, the Székely community of Siculeni gathers in solemn remembrance of the Madéfalva Massacre of 1764. Villagers come to the memorial chapel to honor the hundreds of Székelys killed by imperial troops, in a grave commemoration, the Siculicidium, that keeps alive the memory of a dark day in Székely history.
