Every two years, the city of Orléans celebrates the great Loire River with a five-day festival. Parades of traditional flat-bottomed boats, concerts on the water, and craft markets fill the quays, in a celebration of the river culture and trade that have shaped this city on one of Europe's last wild rivers.
