Each October, around the feast of the Holy Protectress, the city of Rivne celebrates traditional Ukrainian music with LiraFest. Players of the bandura, kobza, and lyre perform rebel songs, Cossack ballads, and sacred music, in a celebration rooted in the bard tradition of Polissya and its deep ties to the nation's story.
