From January into March, the southern town of Limoux holds what it calls the world's longest carnival, with masked bands parading every single weekend. Dressed as elegant Pierrots, the Fecos dance through the arcaded main square to traditional music and clouds of confetti, in a celebration steeped in old Occitan custom.
