Lights Festival and Lantern Parade

Lichterfest und Laternelaufen

Bredstedt, Germany

Oct 17, 2025ConfirmedSource

Each autumn the small Nordfriesland town of Bredstedt gathers for a family Lichterfest paired with a children's lantern parade. Lantern walks are a long northern German custom around St. Martin's time, and here they light the small town against the lengthening dark.

Media proof note

The Lights Festival and Lantern Parade record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.
