Each Carnival, the Dutch city of Eindhoven sheds its name and becomes "Lampegat" for days of pre-Lenten revelry. The whole center turns into a giant festival ground of costumes, music, and parades, in a joyful celebration that joins the great carnival tradition of the Catholic Dutch south.
