Kokle Day

Kokļu diena

Rīga, Latvia

Jun 28, 2026ExpectedSource

Each summer on Saint Peter's Day, the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum in Riga fills with the gentle sound of the kokle. More than a hundred players of the national zither gather to perform old tunes, including in the museum's historic village churches, in a celebration of an instrument that symbolizes Latvia itself.

Media proof note

The Kokle Day record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.
