Each year, the Kharkiv region champions its village cooking with the "Smachnoho!" festival-competition. Learn about Field GuideOrganized by the Kharkiv Regional Cultural Centre, the festival was launched to preserve forgotten local food traditions in Slobozhanshchyna. It grew out of a recent program to collect and archive family recipes from rural Kharkiv. Recalling generations of home cooking, organizers invited community cooks to submit recipes and share heritage dishes.
