Each year, the Slovak town of Lučenec celebrates culture with the week-long Kármán Days. Concerts, literary evenings, and lectures fill the program, named for the local scholar Mór Kármán, in a celebration, held since the 1970s, that has become a cornerstone of cultural life for the town's Hungarian community.
