Each spring, thousands of young men of the old Șchei quarter dress in traditional costume and ride decorated horses through Brașov for the Junii parade. Celebrating the rebirth of nature, the centuries-old procession winds through the city to the hills beyond, in one of Transylvania's most storied folk traditions.

Coborârea Junilor în Cetate (Descent of the Junii)

Visitors see nearly 200 costumed riders on horses parade through Brașov’s Old Town, accompanied by national songs and drums

Hora Junilor at Pietrele lui Solomon

The procession ends with participants (and invited spectators) dancing the eternal Hora Junilor (circle dance) at the Solomon’s Stones hill, accompanied by music

Aruncarea Junilor în Țol (Initiation Ceremony)

Spectators witness the youngest juni being thrown into a carpet amidst traditional dances, symbolizing their acceptance into the fraternity of horsemen
