Each February, the far-north town of Jokkmokk holds a winter market that has gathered the people of Swedish Lapland since 1606. In the deep Arctic cold, stalls overflow with Sámi handicraft, reindeer, music, and food, in a centuries-old meeting that remains a heartland of Sámi culture.
